The release of “Madden NFL 27” is just a few weeks away, but before the game goes live, EA Sports is revealing the ratings for players little by little. It started with the 99 Club, which features Matthew Stafford and Myles Garrett, and on Tuesday, EA dropped ratings for every rookie in the game.
That includes 17 rookies, five of them being draft picks and the other 12 being undrafted free agents. The Rams originally signed 18 undrafted rookies so not all of them are included, but Ty Simpson, Max Klare and the other draft picks were all assigned initial ratings.

EDGE Darryl Peterson III: 64 overall
S Nick Andersen: 63 overall
LB Nikhai Hill-Green: 63 overall
DT Tim Keenan III: 63 overall
TE Dan Villari: 62 overall
CB Drey Norwood: 62 overall
DT Jaxson Moi: 62 overall
TE Rohan Jones: 62 overall
C Austin Blaske: 57 overall
Simpson was the second quarterback drafted, and he has the second-best overall rating among rookie signal callers in Madden 27. Fernando Mendoza, the No. 1 overall pick, is unsurprisingly the highest-rated rookie quarterback with a 74 overall.
However, neither player comes close to being the top-rated rookie in the game. Cowboys safety Caleb Downs and Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love are tied for the highest rookie ratings at 82 overall, followed by Jets edge rusher David Bailey and Bucs edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr.
Keenan’s rating is surprisingly low as a seventh-round pick, significantly worse than Rams sixth-rounder CJ Daniels.
