Just when it seemed like the New Orleans Saints might score for the first time against the Los Angeles Rams, Alex Cook stepped in. The former UFL safety, who was just signed by the Rams this offseason, intercepted Spencer Rattler’s pass at the goal line and went the distance.
He returned it 100 yards for a touchdown, putting the Rams up 27-0 in the third quarter. It was Cook’s first interception of the preseason, and it was a good one. He read Rattler’s eyes the whole way and broke on the ball perfectly, taking advantage of the opportunity to make a play.
Cook has bounced around the league since starting out as an undrafted rookie with the Giants in 2023, but he’s making a case to stick with the Rams this year – even if it’s just on the practice squad.
