Given his success in recruiting and the urgency surrounding the USC Trojans’ push to be a title contender, Lincoln Riley knows this needs to be a breakthrough season. The Trojans’ schedule, however, will make success hard to attain. Riley remains confident.
In a recent tweet, the official X account for the Big Ten Network displayed Lincoln Riley’s thoughts on the Trojans’ tough upcoming schedule. Here is what he had to say:
“We play who they tell us to play. I love the opportunities within that schedule.”
The Trojans’ path to postseason play will have to come with a win against one of Oregon, Indiana, or Ohio State. Those 3 teams are the consensus best teams in the Big Ten. The Trojans are entering the year with a quality team; there is no more time for waiting for this team to be a contender. This is the season Riley needs to show that. Although this schedule is one of the toughest in the country, Lincoln Riley can not afford to allow it to break this team this season. He knows that just as much as his doubters.
