Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.
As the Lakers approach their 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.
Chris Kaman, the No. 6 pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, was a solid center for the Los Angeles Clippers during his early years in the league. In eight seasons with the Clippers, he averaged 11.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks a game, and he was named to the All-Star game during the 2009-10 season.
After short stints with the New Orleans Hornets and Dallas Mavericks, Kaman came to the Lakers as a free agent in 2013. The seven-footer played one season with the Lakers and averaged 10.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and one block in 18.9 minutes a game.
Kaman spent the following two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers before his NBA career ended. He finished with lifetime marks of 11.2 points on 48.9% field-goal shooting, 7.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
