The San Francisco 49ers were back practicing at their SAP Performance Facility on Saturday, and while the injury news about their players continues to be negative, their head coach Kyle Shanahan seems to be making some positive progress.
Shanahan was involved in a severe car accident last month, which nearly cost him his eye and has forced him to take a step back and let assistant head coach/offensive coach Chris Foerster lead the team early in camp.
Through the first two weeks of practices, when Shanahan has been on the field, he’s been wearing sunglasses, which is likely a result of the concussion he suffered during the accident.
However, on Saturday, he appeared on the practice field for the first time without sunglasses, which could be a sign that Shanahan is progressing and not experiencing the light sensitivity that’s common with head injuries.
If Shanahan’s condition continues to improve, he may take back the reins in the near future.
