No one on the Los Angeles Rams likes the Seattle Seahawks. That’s how rivalries work. But Jared Verse seems to have a deep hatred for the Rams’ rival up north.
In an interview on “The Pivot” podcast, Verse opened up about how much he dislikes the Seahawks. Their players, their coaches, their colors. Everything.
He says the Rams’ loss to the Seahawks in the NFC title game felt “more personal” because of how much he hates them.
“They’re a division rival, all that good stuff. But like I genuinely don’t like them,” Verse said. “Like, l got a disdain in my heart for them. Like, I hate them. I don’t like the Seahawks at all. There’s nothing I like about them. I don’t like their players. There’s nobody I like about their staff. I don’t like them.”
Verse isn’t alone in disliking the Seahawks. He says everyone on the team feels that way when the Rams square off with Seattle.
“But when we play them, the whole team’s kind of like that,” he continued. “You can have your best friend on the sideline. You don’t like them. Like, my mom could be wearing Seahawks colors, and that’s my ‘opp’ that day. I just don’t like them.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time Verse has taken a shot at another franchise. Before the Rams’ playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles two seasons ago, he talked about how much he hates Eagles fans – even as someone who’s from the area.
“I hate Eagles fans,” Verse said. “They’re so annoying. I hate Eagles fans.”
He doesn’t like their colors, either.
“I actually get upset. Like I actually genuinely get hot,” he said.
Verse walked back his comments a little bit last offseason when he showed the Eagles respect by saying they have the best fanbase, but his hatred toward the Seahawks will likely never change.
And he doesn’t care if they hear what he said about them.
“They got to see me for a lot more. So it don’t matter. They got to see me for a lot more,” he said when asked about giving Seattle added motivation with his comments.
