How many Chargers were picked in the 7-round draft of active NFL players?

NFL Media’s Chad Reuter released a seven-round mock draft that focuses on building a winning team from active players for the upcoming season.

The draft order was based on the 2025 NFL draft’s first round, with trades and lost picks reversed. The subsequent rounds used a snake order to balance talent.

The Chargers had seven of their current players selected, including Justin Herbert, who the Jaguars took with the fifth overall pick.

Round 1: Justin Herbert, QB (No. 5, Jaguars)

Round 3: Rashawn Slater, OT (No. 79, Dolphins)

Round 4: Derwin James, S (No. 125, Raiders)

Round 5: Ladd McConkey, WR (No. 147, Broncos)

Round 6: Khalil Mack, Edge (No. 180, Dolphins)

Round 6: Joe Alt, OT (No. 186, Jets)

Round 7: Omarion Hampton, RB (No. 209, Bengals)

Meanwhile, the Chargers made the following selections:

Round 1: Justin Jefferson, WR (No. 22, Vikings)

Round 2: Dexter Lawrence, DT (No. 43, Giants)

Round 3: Marlon Humphrey, CB (No. 86, Ravens)

Round 4: Tyler Shough, QB (No. 107, Saints)

Round 5: Kyren Williams, RB (No. 150, Rams)

Round 6: Kevin Zeitler, OG (No. 171, Titans)

Round 7: Harold Landry, Edge (No. 214, Patriots)

L.A. selected the best wide receiver in the NFL with its first-round pick and arguably one of the top defensive tackles in the following round. However, that’s when the talent starts to fall off for the Bolts, with one of their picks being on quarterback Tyler Shough, who has not even taken a single snap in the pros yet.
