The High Desert and mountain communities will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States with a patriotic-themed lineup of events, including parties, parades and fireworks shows.
Spring Valley Lake and Lucerne Valley will kick off the red, white and blue U.S. Semiquincentennial celebration with annual events on June 27.
Adelanto, Crestline and Newberry Springs will also host early events on July 3.
Spring Valley Lake
Spring Valley Lake’s 21st annual Fireworks Show will begin at 9 p.m. on June 27 at the members-only community in Victorville.
Everyone 9 years old and older must have a membership ID or guest pass for entry to the all-day event at the lake’s beach area, which will include activities and food vendors. Anyone using a guest pass must be accompanied by someone with a photo membership ID.
The fireworks show can be viewed outside of the Spring Valley Lake community, in places like Apple Valley, Hesperia and Victorville.
Lucerne Valley
The Lucerne Valley Fireworks Committee will host its patriotic celebration from 5 to 9 p.m. on June 27 at Pioneer Park next to the San Bernardino County Fire Station on Old Woman Springs Road in Lucerne Valley.
The event will include food, vendors, games and a beer garden.
Adelanto
The city of Adelanto will host its U.S. Block Party from 6 to 10 p.m. on July 3, at John Mgrdichian Park/Desert Trails, at 11251 Seneca Road in Adelanto.
The party will include food trucks, music, and family activities and will end with fireworks around 9 p.m.
Newberry Springs Fireworks
Newberry Springs Community Services District’s 3rd of July Fireworks Celebration is scheduled from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at Newberry Park, 30884 Newberry Road in Newberry Springs.

Victorville
The city of Victorville will host its America’s 250th-themed Anniversary Celebration and fireworks show at Silverado High School on the Fourth of July.
The city decided to host its July 4th celebration at Silverado High School, while breaking its decades-long tradition of hosting the event at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds, the city said.
The event at the high school will include the Fast Times Band playing ultimate ’80s hits, food trucks, the Silverado High School Cheer Team, giveaways and more, city officials said.
Silverado High School’s parking lot will open at 5:30 p.m. on July 4, with stadium gates opening at 6 p.m. and the event starting at 7 p.m.

Silverado High School is located at 14048 Cobalt Road near Palmdale Road in Victorville.
Barstow
The city of Barstow will celebrate America’s 250th with a Fourth of July Spectacular from 5 to 10 p.m. on July 4, at the Robert A. Sessions Memorial Sports Park at 2800 Mayor Katy Parkway.
The event will include music, food vendors, a beer garden, games, water slides, art and crafts and a fireworks show at 9 p.m.
Apple Valley
The Town of Apple Valley’s annual Freedom Festival is scheduled from 4 to 9:30 p.m on July 4, at Brewster Park, 21024 Otoe Road in Apple Valley.
The event includes live entertainment, family activities, food vendors and a fireworks show to close out the night. Visitors can bring chairs and blankets to the festival.
Newberry Springs Parade
American Legion Post 751 in Newberry Springs will host its 50th Annual 4th of July Parade, celebrating “100 Years of Freedom on Route 66” and the “250th Anniversary” of the United States.
The parade begins at 9 a.m. at The Barn on Route 66 at 44560 National Trails Highway to Post 751 at 30916 Newberry Road. A $5 lunch will be offered at the post following the parade.
Silver Lakes
The Silver Lakes Association will host its Independence Day Celebration from noon to 10 p.m. on July 4 at North Beach, 2722 Lakeview Drive.
There will be food, a DJ, live music and water slides. The fireworks show begins at dusk. The event is open to current SLA residents and their guests with photo IDs. For more information, email SLARecreationDept@gmail.com, or call 760-952-3107.
Lake Arrowhead
The Arrowhead Lake Association’s Fireworks Spectacular over the lake begins at 9 p.m. on July 4.
Big Bear
The free Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular explodes over Big Bear Lake on July 4.
The fireworks show starts between 8:45 and 9:15 p.m. and runs approximately 30-40 minutes, and is visible from the water, shoreline and some trail vantage points. Local radio station KBHR will air a musical accompaniment to the show on 93.3 FM and 102.5 FM.
The 32nd annual Big Bear Lake Independence Day Faire opens at 10 a.m. on July 4, with the festivities continuing through 6 p.m. The fair is at the corner of Big Bear Boulevard and Division Drive.
The event will provide visitors with a day of shopping, children’s activities, live entertainment, a beer garden, food, vendors and arts and crafts booths.

Crestline
The Crestline Chamber of Commerce will host its 49th annual Jamboree Days celebration over the July 4th weekend.
The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. on July 3, when visitors can begin picnicking at Lake Gregory before the fireworks show over the lake begins at 9 p.m.
The Jamboree Days parade along Lake Drive in Crestline will begin at 10 a.m. on July 4, with the parade route through Crestline from Crest Forest Drive down to Fern Drive, and merging onto Lake Drive and ending at Lake Gregory Drive.
After the parade, the festivities continue with activities on the lake, a family fun zone next to Rim Bowling and dining and browsing in downtown Crestline.
A beer garden with a live band is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of Arrowhead Credit Union and Encompass antique store.
