Hesperia city officials have thanked students at Hesperia High and Carmel Elementary schools for their donations to the Hesperia Animal Shelter.
Fourth- through sixth-grade students at Carmel Elementary raised $500 for the city-run shelter by selling candy grams to their classmates.
The Carmel Elementary School Student Council also raised $500 for the St. Mary Medical Center Foundation, which will be used to help women and children at hospital in Apple Valley.
Hesperia High School
Hesperia High School’s Career Technical Education Advanced Business Class raised $2,000 for the shelter through a student-led charity bowling tournament.
From marketing to event planning, the junior and senior students took the lead and made it happen as part of their hands-on learning experience, city officials stated.
“We’re grateful for their efforts to give back and support animals in need,” city officials said.
