Here's what Palm Springs area casino you'll find JoJo Siwa frequenting

Need some inspiration when it comes to putting together the ideal Coachella Valley itinerary? Singer/actress/dancer — and new desert resident — JoJo Siwa has some ideas.

The triple threat recently performed at the first Dancing with the Stars Con at Acrisure Arena, where The Desert Sun got a chance to chat with her about her new area. Siwa told fans via a social media video earlier this year that she planned to officially move to Palm Springs April 14, but that the house she’s renovating in the area wouldn’t be ready until August.

The past few months, she’s been chronically her move by posting home renovation updates and even some silly videos about how her dog is walking in his new hot-pavement-proof dog booties (spoiler: not well).

Siwa’s been here just long enough to develop some favorites, so here’s how she would spend her perfect Coachella Valley day.

Grab a drink at Ernest Coffee

Her day would start with a visit to Ernest Coffee in Palm Springs, which she said was “so good.” The shop serves Stumptown beans, Summit Tea Company matcha and pastries, and it’s located adjacent to its adjoining bar Bootlegger Tiki in the Uptown Design District.

Get in a round of golf — and maybe catch a wave

During her time in the desert, she’s picked up a love for golf (she plays for around three hours each day, she said), so she would get in a round during her day. Siwa is also a big fan of the Palm Springs Surf Club and Agua Caliente Casinos.

“Go for a little bit of a fun gamble, not a lot, just a fun time, and the restaurants are lovely,” she said of the casino.

But what really has her heart is Sunstone Spa at Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage. She added that she has yet to go to The Spa at Séc-he in Palm Springs, but she called Sunstone “incredible.”

Get in touch with her inner child at Dave & Buster’s

Finding the perfect meal to end the day was a little tough for Siwa. Ultimately, she picked Dave & Buster’s at The River in Rancho Mirage, a spot she recently checked out and enjoyed.

Siwa’s parents moved to the desert nearly three years ago, and she fell in love with the area shortly thereafter. Earlier this year, the family celebrated her brother, Jayden’s, wedding in the valley.

“I mean, what’s not to love?” Siwa said of the desert. “The second you come you don’t want to leave, it’s just the best.”

JoJo Siwa reflects on her history-making time on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

During the weekend-long DWTS Con, which featured live panels, autograph signings, memorabilia and dance events, Siwa also reflected on her history-making stint on the show. She and pro Jenna Johnson were the first same-sex pairing, which garnered a lot of attention from viewers across the country.

“We realized at the time how many eyeballs were watching us,” she said. “We didn’t take that lightly, but we also didn’t let that change our course. We had our goal, we had our mission, it wasn’t necessarily even to win, but it just was to make a worldly impact.”

“‘Dancing with the Stars’ has a lot of fan base that some may have thought two girls dancing together was a little weird, and I think Jenna and I showed it’s not weird, it’s completely normal, you can do it, it’s totally fine,” she continued. “I think it really helped a lot of people become a bit more open-minded.”
