As fantasy football leagues across the country are set to partake in their annual drafts, one Los Angeles Rams playmaker appears to be sliding down draft boards, despite his league-leading production.
In a recent mock conducted by ESPN’s fantasy team, they saw superstar Puka Nacua fall to the eighth overall and fourth receiver taken due to concerns over a potential suspension.
Early in the week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported potential suspensions for many players, including stars Puka Nacua and Josh Jacobs. These were just some of the developments that were top of mind as the ESPN Fantasy team gathered for the latest mock draft, a 10-team, half-PPR setup.
These concerns stem from Nacua’s off-field issues, including allegations that he bit a woman during a night out on New Year’s Eve. With both CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson being selected after Nacua in the mock, it doesn’t appear his fantasy stock was overtly affected, but his status could lead to managers being able to snag the NFL’s leader in receiving yards per game during the back end of the first.
In the mock, Field Yates, who drafted Nacua at No. 8, was also able to snag Derrick Henry at 13, potentially picking up the best and most consistent RB1/WR1 combo of the entire class.
