The Chargers have signed edge rusher Andre Carter.
In a corresponding move, Los Angeles waived wide receiver Mante’ Morrow.
Carter joins the Chargers after going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft. The 25-year-old has played with the Vikings, Raiders, Lions and Dolphins over the past three seasons before he spent some time with the Commanders this offseason.
In Carter’s time in the NFL, he’s played in 15 games, all with the Vikings and has recorded thre rackles and 0.5 sacks.
Prior to his time in the NFL, Carter played for Army West Point, appearing in 33 games. In his college career, he finished with 20 sacks, 99 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, five forced fumbles and a recovery.
Carter’s best college season came in 2021, where he ranked second in the nation with a single-season program-record 15.5 sacks, earning third-team All-America honors from The Associated Press.
As for Morrow, his time with the Chargers comes to an end. The Chargers initially signed Morrow on May 14. He spent most of the offseason with Los Angeles after going undrafted out of Upper Iowa.
Morrow was with the Chargers for their OTAs, mandatory minicamp and most of the first week-plus of their training camp.
Carter will wear No. 51 for the Bolts.
