Sheriff’s detectives said their investigation showed that Castaneda had received and distributed child sexual abuse material on multiple social media sites. He was arrested and booked into Ventura County jail.

Castaneda was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography, according to jail records. In another case, he is also facing a misdemeanor charge for criminal storage of a gun.

He is being held on $510,000 bail for both cases and is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court June 23, jail records show.

Sheriff’s investigators believe there could be additional victims who were known to Castaneda. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Mitchell Peterson of at 805-384-4728.
