Caleb Williams chooses USC over Oklahoma when asked at press conference

Caleb Williams, now the franchise quarterback for the Chicago Bears, is most notably known for tearing it up at USC with Lincoln Riley. Williams won a Heisman trophy in Southern California in 2022. Caleb Williams also played at the University of Oklahoma with Riley before his time at USC.

In a Wednesday presser for the Chicago Bears, Caleb Williams was asked, “Do you think of yourself more as an Oklahoma guy or an SC guy?”

Williams responded, “I probably would say I think I claim USC. But when Oklahoma plays Texas, it’s always horns down.”

Caleb Williams publicly declared his allegiance to the USC Trojans. This was the correct answer for Caleb. During his collegiate career, his best moments occurred at USC. In his 2022 Heisman campaign, Williams threw for 42 passing touchdowns, 4,537 yards through the air, and had only 5 interceptions. His final season was not as successful, but it still solidified him as the number one overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

During his time at Oklahoma after overtaking Spencer Rattler, Caleb Williams threw for 21 passing touchdowns, 1,912 passing yards, and only 4 interceptions. The phenomenon and stardom of Caleb Williams started in Oklahoma, but he will be most remembered for his success in Southern California.

Caleb Williams definitely made a significant impact at USC and will be forever remembered alongside other great Trojan quarterbacks. Caleb will also be one of the Trojan alums whose NFL career is most closely watched until he retires. He has new optimism for his NFL career, given the improved coaching he is receiving in his partnership with Ben Johnson.
