Things literally started looking up for the Redding Public Market in recent days.
Portions of Market Street have been closed as workers, with the help of a huge crane, started the truss work for the market’s patio.
“This space outside of the market will be completely covered with glass garage-style doors on the front to protect the space during inclement weather, fans, and a misting system. It will be flanked on three sides by the new Fall River Brewing Taphouse, the wine boutique and shop, and Redding’s first outdoor bar,” Redding Public Market posted on its Facebook page.
The patio will be accentuated with a lit sign that will span above the patio.
Harris Metal Works installed the trusses, and Meyer Crane provided the lift, hoisting the 3,000-pound metal trusses above the patio as workers guided and then fitted them into place.
The market will feature retail, and food and beverage vendors.

K2 Development Companies is created and developed the public market concept for downtown Redding.
The market is expected to open later this summer, according to Redding Public Market’s Facebook page.
