Analyst views USC's Kamari Ramsey as up and down NFL draft prospect

This NFL draft class is full of rangy and versatile players in the back end on defense. Kamari Ramsey fits that mold, and his versatility makes him a potential steal on Day 2 or 3 of the NFL draft. He has traits many defensive staffs will love, but he also has some areas that could cause his stock to fall.

In a recent article, Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA TODAY Sports breaks down his top 100 players in this draft class. Trojan safety Kmaari Ramsey sneaks in at the bottom at No. 87. Here is what Schwartz had to say about Ramsey:

“Versatile and discerning, Ramsey meets the demands of the modern safety with experience operating in a number of different roles. He might be seen as a jack of all trades and master of none, however, as he’s not particularly dynamic in any phase.”

Kamari Ramsey is a safety prospect who, if placed with the right fit, can be a great piece on a good defense. His situation matters, as he needs a coach to get the most out of him and exploit the things he is great at. Still, he is more than likely to be a day 2-3 guy. His 2024 season gives great hope that he can be a starting safety someday, as well as his experience.
