A Ventura man was arrested for possession of loaded firearm and narcotics for sale on Feb. 25 and a search turned up illegal weapons, according to authorities.
An officer was patrolling the east end of Ventura when he contacted a 46-year-old Ventura resident with outstanding warrants in Los Angeles, according to a Ventura Police Department news release.
The man was detained and arrested for alleged possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine for sale as well as possessing a concealed and loaded pistol, the release says.
The man, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition, the release says. He was arrested for those violations and multiple drug possession, transport and sale offenses.
Later, when detectives obtained and served a search warrant for a storage unit associated with the 46-year-old, detectives found a cache of illegal weapons such as silencers, machine gun as well as firearm parts, the release says.
The man has since been released from Ventura County jail on bond, jail records show. He has a Ventura County Superior Court hearing scheduled for March 11.
