The San Francisco 49ers signed both Mike Evans and Christian Kirk to deals in free agency, but their wide receiver room could still use some help before Kyle Shanahan’s team plays their first game of the 2026 season.
With that, San Francisco has been locked in on wideouts leading up to the 2026 NFL draft, and on Friday, KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson reported that the 49ers have a top-30 visit set up for Texas Tech’s Caleb Douglas next week.
Douglas, 22, was a three-star recruit out of Hightower High School in Missouri City, Texas, before spending two years at Florida and two more at Texas Tech, where he earned All-Big 12 honors once.
The 6-foot-3, 206-pound receiver appeared in 40 games between the two schools and caught 135 passes for 2,031 yards and 16 touchdowns. At the NFL Combine, he recorded a 4.39-second 40-yard dash, a 31.5-inch vertical jump and a 128-inch broad jump.
NFL draft experts project Douglas will go on Day 3 of this year’s draft, and with the 49ers having four picks in the fourth round, they could take the Red Raider to give Brock Purdy another target for the next few years.
