Deputies are searching for a missing 14-year-old girl who was last seen near Palm Springs, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said on Monday, Aug. 18.
Lt. Deirdre Vickers said deputies were dispatched to the 22000 block of Sterling Avenue around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15 regarding a runaway. The caller told deputies Isabella Paola Rojas left the area in an unknown direction, and Rojas was entered into the missing person database as a runaway after deputies couldn’t find her, Vickers said.
The sheriff’s department asked anyone with information about Rojas to contact 800-950-2444.
Rojas is 5’4, about 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. The sheriff’s department did not have a description of the clothes she was wearing when she went missing but said she is known for wearing all black clothing.
The sheriff’s department is handling the investigation instead of Palm Springs police because the area where she was reported missing, off north Highway 111 near Interstate 10, is unincorporated land just outside city limits.
