Port Sanilac, MI (April 18th) — The Sanilac County Historic Village & Museum is excited to bring back its Open Mic Music Series for the 2025 season—along with a full lineup of bonus events that will turn these Saturdays into unforgettable community celebrations!
Open Mic Dates & Details:
📅 Saturdays – May 24, June 14, July 12, August 9, and September 20
🕞 Performer Sign-up at 3:30 PM (limited to the first 12 participants)
🎶 Music Begins at 4:00 PM
Musicians of all genres, ages, instruments, and experience levels are welcome. Solo performers may play two songs, while duos or groups can perform three songs. Whether you’re a polished pro or just testing the stage, we invite you to share your sound! This free event is made possible thanks to the incredible support of Johnny Johnston, who donates his time to host and run the sound. While admission is free, donations are gratefully accepted to support continued programming at the museum.
🎵 Plus—Even More Musical Magic & Community Fun:
● June 14 – A special day of music! The Croswell-Lexington Community Band will perform a free community concert at 2:30 PM on the museum grounds, followed by the Open Mic at 4:00 PM.
● July 12th – Stay for an evening Bourbon Tasting with Iron Fish Distillery at 6:00 PM, hosted by the Sanilac County
Historical Society.
● August 9 – It’s the height of the M-25 Yard Sale Trail (Aug 8–10). After a morning of treasure hunting, relax with an afternoon of music performed by your talented neighbors right here on the museum lawn.
● September 20 – Celebrate local heritage during Flannel Festival Weekend (Sept 19–20)! Enjoy historic reenactors,
Voyageurs and Settlers, and a special history lecture at 3PM by Derek Blount: “Shanties of the Lumberjacks.” Stick
around for music at 4:00 PM and round out a day full of history and harmony.
From spontaneous strumming to symphonic flair, these music-filled Saturdays promise to deliver community spirit, toe-tapping tunes, and a deep appreciation for both our local talent and our local history.
