The 78th annual Monroe County Fair runs July 27 through Aug. 2 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, 3775 S. Custer Road (M-50) at South Raisinville Road in Monroe.
The Monroe County Fair is the county’s largest event of the year. The 2023 fair was the most well-attended in the event’s history, with 229,780 attendees. In 2024, a total of 199,304 people went to the fair.
This year’s music headliner is country artist Brantley Gilbert, who will perform Aug. 2. The special guest Sadie Bass, Michigan native and former contestant on “The Voice.”

Fireworks on July 25
A fireworks celebration will kick-off the 78th Monroe County Fair. The show, sponsored by Mark Jarrait Farm Bureau, will begin at dusk July 25 at the fairgrounds.
Parking will be available in the lot east of the fairgrounds off M-50 and in the lot south of the fairgrounds on South Raisinville Road. Food vendors and restrooms will be available. Admission is free. The rain date is Sept. 19.
Parade on July 27
The traditional fair parade through downtown Monroe will begin at 1 p.m. July 27. Rollo Juckette is the parade grand marshal. Highlights of the parade includes local school marching bands, many local businesses, tractors and fire trucks.
The parade will step off from the Department of Public Services’ facility on Jones Avenue, proceed west to Monroe Street and north to Elm Avenue. It will disband west of Roessler Street.
Monroe Street and Elm Avenue will be completely closed to traffic for the entire parade.

For the 75th year, see firetrucks, firefighters
Several Monroe County fire departments will staff a booth all fair week. Hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
“There will be one (department) at the north and one at the south of the Monroe County Firefighters Association stations,” said Mark Manor, vice president of MCFA and assistant chief for the London-Maybee-Raisinville Fire Department.
“The MCFA has been providing coverage for the fair as far back as 1950,” Manor said. “This year the MCFA will be celebrating its 75th anniversary with an open house at the Dundee Fire Department fire station Sunday, Aug. 10.”
