Dominant pitching led the Zeeland East baseball team to a sweep of Holland Christian – led by a no-hitter.
Ethan Campbell threw a five-inning no-hitter in the first game of the doubleheader, winning 11-0 on Tuesday, April 21. Zeeland East won the second game 3-1.
Campbell struck out 12 walked none and gave up no hits or runs. One batter reached on an error.
Offensively, an eight-run fifth inning was the difference. Ryan Kuzma doubled in a run. Zeek Ramandhani singled in another. Jack Toner singled in two and Peyton Davis singled in two more.
Mason Raade had three doubles. Davis went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
In the second game, Caden Hunderman got the win on the mound, pitching six innings. He allowed no earned runs, two hits and four walks while striking out eight. Raade got the save.
In the third inning, Campbell singled in a run.
After the Maroons scored on a bases-loaded walk to tie the game, Tyler Chandler and Davis had RBI singles in the fourth to put the game away.
