An immunity challenge gave “Survivor” castaways a reminder that there’s no time to get confident and a formerly “safe” castaway ended up going home.
As the latest episode on Nov. 12 opened, it focused on which castaways felt vulnerable, particularly Savannah Louie. Then, the immunity challenge flipped the power script.
The 10 players of the merged Lewatu were split into two groups competing for individual and group immunity. The twist left players who were vulnerable safe while several who had a plan suddenly had to scramble when their team lost and they were sent to tribal council.
Louie won individual immunity and was part of the winning group gaining immunity overall. Louie also claimed a voting advantage, and food for herself and others in her group, including Alex Moore, Sophi Balerdi, Kristina Mills and Steven Ramm. Mills also found a hidden immunity idol during the episode.
Plots to send Louie home had been circulating in camp, but after she won she was back on top and out for revenge, calling herself a “hot grim reaper.”
Rizo Velovic, Sophie Segreti, Jawan Pitts, Sage Ahrens-Nichols and MC Chukwujekwu lost the challenge and were sent to a new camp to plan for tribal council. The strategizing was chaotic and alliances could not get on the same page.
Unexpectedly, Louie joined them at tribal council as part of her voting advantage.
In the end, fitness trainer Michelle “MC” Chukwujekwu, 29, of Texas, was sent home as group members at council discussed their votes in front of host Jeff Probst.
Castaway Nate Moore was present during tribal council as the first jury member.
Going into next week, there are nine castaways competing for the $1 million prize. Here’s a look at the latest episode of “Survivor,” and how to watch next Wednesday.
Who got voted off ‘Survivor’ last night?
Probst extinguished fitness trainer Michelle “MC” Chukwujekwu’s fire at tribal council. The alliance of Chukwujekwu, Sage Ahrens-Nichols, Jawan Pitts and Sophie Segreti was originally going to vote Rizo Velovic out by persuading him to not play his immunity idol.
However, the plan got ruined after Sophie Segreti mentioned writing Jawan Pitts’ name down to secure her spot and after Louie’s arrival to camp.
Segreti was the only other name written down during voting. Louie also did not cast her extra vote, so she still has that advantage moving forward.
Chukwujekwu is now the second jury member of Season 49.
