West Ottawa basketball player Jana Honeycutt has been selected second-team all-state in Division 1 by the Michigan Sportswriters.
The sophomore guard averaged 19.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 3.4 blocks per game. She totaled three 30-plus points performances and was first-team all-conference in OK Red.

“She impacts the game in every way you can measure. She scores at a high level, rebounds like a post, and changes possessions defensively with steals and shot-blocking from the guard/forward spot. Even with constant defensive attention, she consistently delivered and helped make a clear step forward for the WO program this year. Her versatility, two-way production, and ability to take over key moments separate her from the field,” West Ottawa coach Kelly Wandel said.
The Division 1 girls list finished up the all-state basketball teams.
In Division 3, Saugatuck’s Talia Laskowski and Mylah Simpson were named first-team all-state earlier in the week and coach Kevin Tringali was named Coach of the Year.
For the boys, Holland Christian’s Titus Spencer was selected first-team all-state in Division 2 and Black River’s Jamison Huizenga was second-team in Division 3.
