It’s time to vote for the Cheboygan Daily Tribune’s Athlete of the Week for April 27-May 2.
Each week, Cheboygan-area high school athletes will be eligible for the athlete of the week honor. Athlete of the week polls go live on Monday and voting closes at 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Here’s this week’s candidates:
Adele Schulz, Cheboygan Girls Track and Field – Finished first in the 800 at the Rudyard Invitational.
Azalia Carper, Inland Lakes – Struck out 11 against Pickford in game one, while adding two hits and an RBI offensively.
Kenzlie Currie, Mackinaw City Softball – Homered, doubled, had two RBIs and scored two runs against Harbor Light.
Lillyann Cooksey, Onaway Girls Track and Field – Finished second in the 100, 200 and long jump at the Mancelona Invitational.
Brett Bonter, Pellston Baseball – Went 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles and three RBIs in game one against Central Lake.
Jeremiah Tucker, Burt Lake NMCA Baseball – Combined for three hits, three RBIs and six runs scored in a doubleheader against Posen.
Taya Long, Wolverine Softball – Went 3-for-6 with a grand slam, a three-run homer, seven RBIs and three runs scored against Harbor Light.
