Cheboygan senior volleyball player Abi Babcock has been voted by readers as the Cheboygan Daily Tribune’s Athlete of the Week for 8-13.
Babcock won this week’s poll by capturing 42.33 percent of the vote, while Cheboygan girls golfer Elise Markham was second with 21.5 percent.
The poll opened on Monday morning and closed on Thursday night.
Here were this week’s nominees:
Abi Babcock, Cheboygan Volleyball – Had eight kills, five aces and four digs against Elk Rapids.
Elise Markham, Cheboygan Girls Golf – Finished 10th at the Cheboygan Invitational.
Ava Belford, Inland Lakes Volleyball – Tallied 11 kills, five digs and two aces against East Jordan.
Alaina Brown, Mackinaw City Volleyball – Finished with six kills, seven aces, 11 digs and five assists against Alba.
Carley Karsten, Onaway Volleyball – Registered five kills, seven digs and three aces against Mancelona.
Lucas Livermore, Pellston Football – Threw three touchdown passes, scored on an 81-yard kickoff return for a TD, and recorded a sack at Bellaire.
