A vigil is being held on Sunday, Sept. 21 in Monroe for conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
A candlelight vigil including prayer, music, and a Bible-reading will begin at 5 p.m. at Loranger Square in downtown Monroe.
“Our focus is going to be on his Christian values and the way he always spoke about his faith,” said Pansy Heath, who secured the location for the event.
Tyler Robinson, 22, has been accused of assassinating Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, on Sept. 10 at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
The Monroe County Republican Party has scheduled a Charlie Kirk gala on Nov. 22 at the River Raisin Banquet Center.
