Jenna Spitzley won a pair of individual events while helping the Pewamo-Westphalia girls track team finish as the champion at a Division 3 regional at Chesaning on Saturday, May 15.
The Pirates finished with 149.5 points, while Lansing Catholic was the runner-up with 121 points.
Spitzley was the shot put champion with a season-best throw of 36-5 and won the discus with a toss of 131-3.
P-W also had Trinity Pohl win the 100 hurdles and its 3,200 relay team place first.
Olivet’s Celina Sincliar and Lansing Catholic’s Josie Bishop each were double individual winners.
Sinclair won the 100 and 200, posting personal-best times in both. She won the 200 in 25.46 and 100 in 12.0. Bishop won the 400 and 800.
DIVISION 4 AT FOWLER
Leah Thelen led a strong showing for Fowler with a pair of individual wins while helping it finish as a regional champion with 171 points.
Thelen won the high jump and 100 hurdles while being the lone double individual winner for the Eagles.
Michael Spitzley (100) and Nadia Schafer (pole vault) also were individual winners and were both part of Fowler’s winning 800 relay.
DIVISION 3 AT STOCKBRIDGE
Aliyah Numinen won the 1,600 and Lucy Chapman was the 3,200 champion to lead host Stockbridge in its regional. The Panthers also had Charlotte Hayes take second in the shot put and discus while finishing third as a team.
BOYS
DIVISION 3 AT CHESANING
Landon Styka and Jacob Mankey were event winners for Ithaca, which captured a regional title with a score of 104.5.
Styka won the 3,200 and Mankey was the 800 champion to lead the Yellowjackets, who also won the 1,600 and 3,200 relays. Devyn Fisher was the runner-up in the 110 and 300 hurdles.
P-W was the runner-up with 98 points. Alex Nurenberg won the 400 and Elijah Thelen won the high jump for the Pirates.
DIVISION 3 AT STOCKBRIDGE
Junior William Gancer finished first In the 1,600 and 3,200 for Stockbridge at its regional. Gancer’s efforts helped the Panthers finish fifth as a team.
DIVISION 4 AT FOWLER
Fowler placed third with 71 points and was led by Hudson Fedewa, who won the high jump by clearning a personal-best 6-0.
