Prep roundup: Laci Neal's five homers power Dansville to title

Laci Neal slugged five home runs while powering the Aggies to the title at their own invitational. Neal had three home runs and four RBI in a 6-1 win over Stockbridge that featured Ryker Graf striking out 21 while earning the pitching win. Neal was the winning pitcher against Camden Frontier and struck out 18.

PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 14. MT. PLEASANT SACRED HEART 5 / TRAVERSE CITY ST. FRANCIS 6, PORTLAND ST. PATRIC 5

The Shamrock went 1-1 but claimed a title at the Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart tournament based on fewest runs allowed after each team finished 1-1. Gracelyn Rockey went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a home run and drove in five in St. Patrick’s win over No. 4-ranked Sacred Heart. Naomi Hass added a homer for St. Patrick. Rockey and Mariah Davlin each added two hits in the loss to St. Francis.

BASEBALL

GRAND LEDGE 10, MT. PLEASANT 0 / GRAND LEDGE 2, GROSSE POINTE SOUTH 1

Tyler Terranova picked up the game-winning RBI single in the eighth inning to lift the Comets over Grosse Pointe South at the CMU Round Robin tournament. Terranova picked up three hits on the day with a double and four RBI, Brett Baker tallied four hits and two RBI and Micahel Bos and Hudson Miller each notched a win for Grand Ledge.

DETROIT EDISON 2, MASON 0 / SALINE 6, MASON 2

Colton McCaleb finished with two hits, double and a run scored for the Bulldogs in a pair of defeats at the Saline Invitational. Carson Chapin and Joey Schild each tacked on a double for Mason.

PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 8, MOUNT PLEASANT SACRED HEART 4 / PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 8, TRAVERSE CITY ST. FRANCIS 1

The Shamrocks used a seven-run fifth inning to knock off Sacred Heart and scored four runs in the sixth inning to gain separation in their win over St. Francis. Charlie Thelen had a double and three RBI and Sean Fedewa struck out seven and allowed just four hits over six innings against St. Francis for St. Patrick. Jerryd Scheurer had two hits and two RBI in the win over Sacred Heart.

LAINGSBURG 16, OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 5 / LAINGSBURG 7, CENTRAL MONTCALM 0

Quinton Garcia went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI in the win over Oakland Christian, while Everett Rodriguez allowed just two hits and struck out six over six scoreless inning in the victory over Central Montcalm for Laingsburg.
