Hundreds of you voted in The Detroit News Burger Bracket over the past four days to determine which of the 32 remaining competitors head to the Sweet 16 match-ups.
The numbers are in, and judging by some of the close calls, this is shaping up to be a very fierce competition. In the end, though, there will only be one winner. We’ll announce the champion on April 9.
This past round saw a lot of big names bounce out, including the last corporate chain left in the competition, Culver’s, an early favorite among readers. Top-seeded Miller’s Bar in Dearborn lost its match-up to another longstanding favorite, Red Coat Tavern.
Voting for this round runs through Monday at midnight. On April 1, we’ll announce the Elite 8, and you can place your votes again as that round starts.
Why don’t you see your favorite burger joint in the bracket? The pool of contestants was chosen by you, our readers, during a call for nominations that was held earlier this month. The competitors were seeded largely based on the number of nominations each received.
