Tickets go on sale this week for the 2025 Detroit Free Press/Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Top 10 Takeover dinner on June 24 at Savoy, a Southern and Creole restaurant on Detroit’s east side.
Savoy, which came in at No. 9 on this year’s list of Top 10 New Restaurants and Dining Experiences, was celebrated for its creative twists on Southern staples, warm service and live jazz performances — all highlights that guests will experience at the June 24 dinner.
Tickets will be available to Free Press subscribers at noon Thursday, June 5 before opening up to the general public at noon Friday, June 6. Purchase tickets at freep.com/top10.
For the event, chef Melba Dearing has prepared a menu of char-grilled oysters, fried catfish, grilled lamb chops and butter pecan cheesecake among other dishes with a soulful flair. Dearing has also created a vegetarian menu for those with dietary restrictions.
As the fifth installment of the series, the dinner will be held at Savoy, beginning at 5 p.m. for the first seating, with second seating to follow at 7:30 p.m. Tickets run $65 per person, including tax, gratuity, and a $3 donation to Forgotten Harvest, a local nonprofit working to support those facing food insecurity in metro Detroit.
