ONAWAY – The Inland Lakes Bulldogs and Onaway Cardinals were well represented on this year’s all-Ski Valley Conference softball team.
A trio of Bulldogs made the Ski Valley’s first team, including seniors Eva Carper (infield), Brooklyn LaBrecque (outfield) and Lexi Kovtun (utility).
Joining the three Bulldogs was Onaway senior catcher Ema DeMaestri, whose play was crucial in the Cardinals capturing their first district crown since 2019.
Earning nods on the second team were Onaway’s Aleigha Garms (pitcher), Charlotte Box (infield), Marley Szymoniak (infield) and Natalee Hyde (outfield), as well as Inland Lakes’ Myla Thompson (first base).
Pellston’s Lanie Irwin, Ella Klungle and Breanna Willis rounded out Cheboygan-area players on the Ski Valley squad, earning honorable mention recognition.
Mancelona senior Ella Schramm was named the Ski Valley’s player of the year.
