Taylor Swift life-size cake unveiled at Home Bakery in downtown Rochester

Look, there’s Taylor Swift in a downtown Rochester bakery’s window.

Well, it’s not the real Taylor Swift, but rather a cake version created by the bakery’s owner and team.

And it’s not any cake. It’s a life-size cake likeness of the superstar entertainer.

On Friday, in honor of Swift’s new album “The Life of a Showgirl”, Heather Tocco, owner of the Home Bakery unveiled a life-size cake likeness of the superstar. The cake is on display in the bakery’s front window, skillfully decorated in a outfit that’s Taylor Swift-style.

And while Friday’s Swift’s new album release may have broken records, Tocco’s creation makes it even sweeter.

According to a news release, Tocco chose to create a Taylor Swift-inspired window because “honestly, we’re a bunch of Swifties in here!”

There’s a lot that went into Tocco’s Swift creation. It’s one full sheet cake, eight sheets of Rice Krispies, a whopping 30 pounds of fondant and 12 quarts of buttercream. Putting it all together took 75 hours and five cake designers.

Aside from Swift’s music, Tocco said she really admires her. “Taylor isn’t just an incredibly talented artist, she’s a brilliant businesswoman, a master storyteller, and someone who has built a global community through creativity, resilience, and authenticity,” Tocco said in a news release.

Home Bakery, known for its creative confections displayed in its storefront window.

And in case you are wondering, Home Bakery is the same bakery that created the famous Amon-Ra St. Brown headstand cake last January displayed in the window. The Amon-Ra St. drew crowds of people to see the cake and take photos.

Tocco said display creations in the window is their way to “tell stories and celebrate cultural moments that bring people together.”

“From football to pop culture, it’s our way of connecting with our community and sparking joy. With Taylor’s latest album release, it felt like the perfect time to highlight someone I view as a powerful role model, especially for young women, showing that success comes from hard work, imagination, and the courage to reinvent yourself.”

Now through mid-November the cake will be on display at the Home Bakery, 300 S. Main Street in downtown Rochester.
