Target was experiencing issues with its online system just a week before Christmas and Kwanzaa 2025 and amid Hanukkah celebrations.
Outage reports for the nationwide retailer started to roll in at about 6 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, according to the DownDetector.com website that tracks such issues. By 10:40 a.m., there were just under 1,300 reports.
Users reported issues with online ordering and pickup, according to reports on the DownDetector.com website.
Target, in a statement, apologized for a disruption on Friday, acknowledging “intermittent issues with our digital experience” and a fix “underway.”
In-person stores remain open.
The company promised an update later.
The retailer had 54 locations in Michigan as of February 2025, according to its most recent annual report.
