Sherrone Moore's former executive assistant no longer employed at UM

The executive assistant for former Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore, with whom he had an affair that cost him his job, is no longer employed by the University of Michigan.

Her contract expired Feb. 28, according to her personnel file obtained by The Detroit News. The News has not identified her because she is an alleged domestic crime victim.

“Her contract expired and was not renewed,” Michigan football spokesman Dave Ablauf said in a text to The Detroit News on Wednesday.

She was hired Nov. 3, 2021 as an administrative assistant on then-head coach Jim Harbaugh’s staff for $55,000. She then became an assistant recruiting operations coordinator and by 2023 had a salary of $56,100.

Moore became head coach Jan. 26, 2024 after Harbaugh left for the NFL, and the woman was promoted to executive assistant to the head coach beginning March 1, 2025. Her salary increased to $99,000.

Moore was fired Dec. 10 after an investigation found he had an inappropriate relationship with a staff member and also that he lied during the investigation, according to a letter from the university outlining his firing for cause.

Later that day, he went to the woman’s apartment and allegedly entered her home without permission, pointed kitchen butter knives at her, then turned the knives on himself and threatened suicide.

He was arrested and charged two days later with third-degree home invasion, stalking and illegal entry without permission. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted of home invasion, the most serious of the three charges.

Moore is scheduled for an evidentiary hearing Friday at 11 a.m. in 14A District Court.
