The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two men who reportedly fled from a traffic crash in East China Township Thursday, Sept. 18.
The sheriff’s office wrote in a Facebook post that it responded to a crash Thursday morning near the intersection of King and Meisner roads. Upon their arrival they learned five men had fled from the scene.
East China Schools were placed on temporary lockdown following the incident, though the lockdown was later lifted. The sheriff’s office stated the men are not believed to be dangerous or armed and there is no threat to the public.
Three of the men have been located, though Sheriff’s Office Public information Officer Erika Hyrnyk said she was unsure if they had been arrested. Deputies are searching for the other two men using police dogs.
No injuries were reported in the initial crash.
