Road work ahead in Michigan. A look at projects getting underway

Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) crews are beginning summer construction projects across the state with barricades going up and roads closing.

Construction demand peaks during summer and, in 2026, Michigan is expected to invest $2 billion a year into Michigan’s state and local roads, according to a news release from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
