Another tidbit of Michigan State basketball’s 2026-27 schedule has been released on social media on Wednesday night. The Spartans will be going on a road trip to Knoxville (TN) for a matchup with the Volunteers.
It is no secret that the Spartans are going to load their nonconference schedule up, and Tom Izzo has locked in a marquee matchup with one of his best friends in the coaching profession, Rick Barnes. This will be the first time the Spartans and Volunteers will play against one another since the 2010 Elite Eight.
Rumors are swirling that this will be a home and home, but nothing is confirmed just yet.
With adding Tennessee to the schedule, the Spartans now have a fourth game against a major team, with neutral site games against Duke, Arkansas and Gonzaga on the schedule already.
