The Detroit Lions will face the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football in Week 3, and the Lions could be catching a nice injury break in facing the AFC powerhouse. A former Lions defensive standout is quite likely to miss the matchup.
Ravens EDGE Kyle Van Noy, Baltimore’s top pass rusher and sack leader in 2024, suffered a hamstring injury during the team’s blowout win over the rival Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Early indications are that Van Noy will miss multiple games, beginning with the Week 3 visit from the Lions.
The 34-year-old Van Noy finished fourth in the NFL in sacks a year ago with 12.5, his career-high. Van Noy began his NFL career with the Lions as Detroit’s second-round pick in 2014. He was traded to the Patriots during the 2016 season after a disappointing Lions tenure. He bagged just two sacks in 37 games in Detroit.
The Ravens do have some depth at EDGE, notably rookie Mike Green, but missing Van Noy would be a notable loss for Baltimore.
