Rain forecast forces Tigers time change Sunday vs Red Sox in Boston

Detroit sports fans hoping to watch a Detroit Tigers game in the afternoon before settling in with a Detroit Pistons playoff game in the evening will have some tough choices on Sunday, April 18, thanks to a nasty weather forecast.

MLB announced a time change for the Tigers’ game in Boston against the Red Sox, moving the third game of the four-game series from 1:35 p.m. to 4:35 p.m. Even with the time change, the game may run deep into the evening; the rain in Boston is expected to start around 10 a.m. and last most of the afternoon.

The Pistons, meanwhile, will open the 2026 NBA playoffs with a visit from the Orlando Magic at 6:30 p.m. at Little Caesars Arena.

The Tigers game will air on Detroit SportsNet, while the Pistons game will be on NBC (and stream on Peacock).

This is a developing story.
