GIRLS TENNIS
CAAC BLUE TOURNAMENT
East Lansing swept the doubles flights on its way to winning the CAAC Blue tournament.
The title was the second straight for East Lansing, while Okemos was the runner-up.
Ani Meghea and Evie Laxton (No. 1 singles), Stella Alfredson and Zoe Van Dorn (No. 2 doubles), Grace Knake and Addy Louagie (No. 3 doubles) and Allison Drzal and Carmen Rojewski (No. 4 doubles and Sima Bezuglova (No. 4 doubles) won their flights for East Lansing. Maia Meghea (No. 1 singles) and Eleanna Kimbouris (No. 3 singles) finished as the runner-up in their flights.
IONIA 8, EASTERN 0
Aizlin Barna, Audrey Wall, Avelin McGuire and Tessa Lemke each picked up wins to help the Bulldogs notch a victory over Eastern.
BASEBALL
LAKEWOOD 7, LANSING CATHOLIC 4 / LANSING CATHOLIC 7, LAKEWOOD 6
Noah Jungwirth hit a walk-off home run in the eighth inning to help the Cougars split the CAAC White doubleheader with Lakewood. Watson Ferreri had a double, two RBI and the win on the mound, Issac Gallegos notched three hits and two stolen bases and Anthony Branoff added two hits for Lansing Catholic. Hollis Poll grabbed the win in game one for the Vikings.
LESLIE 7, NAPOLEON 1 / LESLIE 11, NAPOLEON 5
Kentucky commit Jackson Fossitt led the Blackhawks with five hits, six runs scored and notched the win in game two as Leslie picked up a pair of victories over Napoleon. Easton Hawkins went 2-for-3 with four RBI and a win in game one and Henry Bradford tallied five RBI for Leslie.
GRAND LEDGE 17, GULL LAKE 9 / GRAND LEDGE 3, GULL LAKE 2
Brett Baker had a grand slam in game one to lead the Comets to a pair of nonleague wins over Gull Lake. Michael Bos and Easton Benaske each notched wins and Xavier West had three RBI for Grand Ledge
OWOSSO 4, GOODRICH 2
Jack Sydow and Landon Harrand helped drive in four runs in the fourth inning to lead the Trojans to a Flint Metro League win over Goodrich. Harrison Sydow picked up the win with six strikeouts and Eden Ackley notched the save for Owosso.
GOLF
BATH 163, LANSING CHRISTIAN 170
Junior Max McCallister was the medalist with a round of 38 while helping the Bees earn a key CMAC win over Lansing Christian at College Fields. Sam Dunckel had a round of 40 and Jacob Staake shot a 41 for Bath. Lansing Christian had Ben Rottman shoot a round of 39 and Nic Korrey finish with a score of 40.
