Dearborn Heights Star International broke its program record for wins in a single season, defeating Detroit Universal Academy 80-79 Thursday evening, picking up its 15th win in a battle of impressive individual performances.

Keshawn Westberry led the way with 39 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and six steals for Dearborn Heights Star International (15-5).

“This is dedicated to our head coach, Ibrahim Baydoun who passed away in the offseason,” coach Hadi Baydoun said. “To be able to do this for him is very special.”

Majeed Alkayat scored 37 in the loss, as Detroit Universal Academy’s upset bid fell just short. The team falls to 5-11 on the season.
