A Powerball ticket sold in southeast Michigan won someone $1 million this week, although the jackpot remains unclaimed for the next drawing on Wednesday, July 22. The jackpot has risen to more than $560 million.
On Monday, July 20, a ticket sold in Melvindale at Kelly’s Fuel Mart Inc., 18060 Allen Road, matched the five white balls of 2, 9, 44, 53 and 59, winning the $1 million prize, according to the Michigan Lottery.
No one won the Powerball jackpot on Monday, increasing the prize for Wednesday’s drawing, July 22, to an estimated $567 million and a cash value prize of $251.8 million.

The largest winning Powerball jackpot ticket sold in Michigan was worth $842.4 million and sold in January 2024 at Food Castle in Grand Blanc. The overall largest win came from a player in California who claimed more than $2 billion.
The Powerball is legal to play in 45 states, plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
