A Port Huron woman charged with the murder of a Detroit man has been bound over to circuit court.
Amber Oile, 36, waived her arraignment in circuit court Monday, Dec. 22, and a pretrial conference was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 13.
Oile was arrested in October after she reportedly shot 30-year-old Reginald Franklin multiple times.
According to statements made during Oile’s preliminary hearing, Franklin drove to a gas station on Military Street on Oct. 13 where Oile met him. The two were seen interacting briefly before Franklin went inside the station.
Oile reportedly followed Franklin inside the gas station store. After a brief conversation, she was seen in security footage pulling out a gun and pointing it at Franklin, but did not fire.
After the two exited the gas station store, Oile again confronted Franklin at the gas pump where security footage reportedly showed her firing a gun multiple times as Franklin fell down to the floor. Oile then reportedly approached Franklin’s body and shot him in the head.
After the shooting, Tri-Hospital EMS took Franklin to Lake Huron Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Oile has been charged with open murder, punishable with up to life in prison, assault with a dangerous weapon, punishable with up to four years in prison, and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, each punishable with up to two years in prison.
