Ann Arbor police have identified the driver in a hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian last month, officials said.
The findings of their investigation have been submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review, they said in a statement on Thursday.
Police said the crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. on June 16, 2026, at the intersection of East Huron Street and North Thayer Street.
According to a preliminary investigation, a white Chevrolet Traverse struck a 22-year-old man as he walked across the street in the crosswalk.
Officials said the vehicle’s driver did not stop and fled. They also said the vehicle displayed a temporary license plate, and detectives believed it sustained front-end damage.
Medics arrived and took the victim to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, investigators said.
Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect vehicle should call the Ann Arbor Police Department at (734) 794-6920, email tips to tips@a2gov.org, or submit an anonymous tip through Silent Witness at https://aapd.a2gov.org/SilentWitness.
The incident is among the most recent cases involving a pedestrian and a hit-and-run driver.
Last month, a driver struck two kids riding an electric bike in St. Clair Shores.
A 24-year-old man was charged in May in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian dead.
Also in May, a 69-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Redford Township.
