Police: 85-year-old Livingston County man still missing after drone, foot searches

According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, an 85-year-old resident is still missing near Oceola Township, despite multiple attempts to find him.

Deputies responded to a missing persons report for a man named Jerry Spaulding around 9:40 p.m. July 5. His sister, who called in the report, said her brother went for a walk in the woods around 4:45 p.m. and didn’t return to his home near Argentine Road, north of Brophy Road.

Police searched the 40-acre area on foot with drones throughout the night, but didn’t find Spaulding. The next morning, LCSO asked for assistance from search and rescue teams in Oakland County and Lapeer County.

The combined teams searched several hundred acres unsuccessfully, even with the help of numerous dogs, drones, ATVs and a helicopter.

Spaulding was last seen wearing a red and green western-style shirt, blue jeans and work boots. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 517-546-9111.
