Pier Restaurant gives back through annual Neighbors in Need initiative

This Thanksgiving season, The Pier Restaurant donated Thanksgiving meals to the Harbor Springs Community Food Pantry as part of the Neighbors in Need initiative.

For more than two decades, the staff and guests of The Pier Restaurant have united to support neighbors facing food insecurity, according to a community announcement. This year, The Pier expanded its reach by partnering with the Harbor Springs Community Food Pantry, a nonprofit dedicated to alleviating hunger and supporting the well-being of local residents.

The Harbor Springs Community Food Pantry is operated entirely by volunteers and is located in the lower level of the Holy Childhood Church Community Center.

“It is an honor to partner with The Pier on their 22nd annual Neighbors In Need Thanksgiving dinner offering,” said Julie Collie, chair of the Harbor Springs Community Food Pantry. “General Manager Katie Knoblock’s commitment to growing this program is inspiring. Executive Chef Jay DiGise’s enthusiasm is contagious, and we are all grateful that Leslie Fisher, a lifelong Harbor Springs resident and local educator, is serving as volunteer coordinator for the 17th consecutive year. To quote from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, ‘Look for the helpers.’ I am once again awed by the helpers in our community.”
