Minutes before the shooting, an argument started in a business before moving to the parking lot. A male suspect then produced a firearm and began shooting at the victim and others who fled on foot across Douglas Avenue.

Black River Billiards, a nearby business, issued a statement Nov. 16:

“Last night, an isolated incident occurred in the parking lot and extended across Douglas Avenue. We are thankful to share that everyone inside our establishment remained safe, and the situation was handled quickly by local law enforcement.

“As always, the safety and well-being of our guests and staff is our highest priority. Black River Billiards and The Side Pocket will continue normal operations, and we will share updates only as appropriate.”

This incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office or Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT or mosotips.com.
