LANSING — A new men’s clothing shop is opening in the heart of Lansing, more than a year after downtown fashion stalwart Kositchek’s Menswear closed.
Craig Ryan Fine Clothing is opening a location, its fifth, in the Atrium Building on Washington Square. The building is planned to connect to an under-construction skyscraper through a bridge across Grand Avenue. The 28-story building is part of The New Vision Lansing projects, roughly $315 million in investments in five buildings.
Craig Ryan started in Grand Blanc two decades ago and the Lansing location will be its fifth spot, along with Harbor Springs, Petoskey and Birmingham.

In a statement, company president and Michigan State University alumnus Julian Delos Reyes said the new store will be able to connect from the historic Atrium to the new skyscraper.
“Opening in downtown Lansing feels like a full circle moment and homecoming,” Delos Reyes said.
Every new storefront in downtown adds to the city’s experience and helps to build momentum, said Cathleen Edgerly, executive director of Downtown Lansing Inc.
Craig Ryan has its grand opening on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. at 215 S. Washington Square.
The future of Kositchek’s, which has been in downtown since the 1800s, is unclear following damage to the building during a July 2024 storm.
David Kositchek, fourth generation owner, told the State Journal in an email on Sept. 4: “I am unable to give you an update at this time.”
