Michigan State football came out with another big-time recruiting win on Saturday night, this time beating out a notable SEC squad for the prospect.

Umenyiora picked the Spartans over Auburn, who was reportedly the leader for his commitment up until late. He also held notable offers from Kentucky, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Duke, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Tulane, Liberty and Memphis.

Umenyiora ranks as the No. 63 cornerback in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2026 class. He holds a recruiting rating of 87 on 247Sports.

This is yet another big win for the Spartans on the recruiting trail, with Michigan State now up to 13 commits in the 2026 class. Michigan State has added nine commits to the class since the start of June.
